I still believe.

The Lost Boys is one of the best movies from the 80s and the reason I so easily buy into vampire culture.

The movie had every actor I thought was cool. I forgave it for the few that weren't cool (ahem, the Coreys).

I wanted to be Jami Gertz and when I made friends with a Jami in college, I thought she was cooler because her name was spelled like Jami Gertz. (I went by Ginni, so I loved finding others with a name ending with an i).

I remember acting out the maggot scene with a friend on a trampoline.

But perhaps the most memorable scene is when Tim Capello sings "I still believe."

The long hair...

The spandex purple pants...

The spray tanned muscles...

The "wet look..."

The saxophone...

The headbanging...

It's such a perfect embodiment of the 80s...

Here it is in the movie:

And here's a fan created video for the song:

I re-watched it recently with my friend Jami and my husband who missed it when he was a kid. It holds up. I don't joke love it. I love it love it. I recommend re-watching it.
