I cherish travel days. As I fly up to Philadelphia for a couple days I thought I’d write a few of the things that make me happy.
Last minute packing. I generally launch a “clean everything you own” campaign before going out of town. The clean everything you own campaign means I have tons of choices and a super organized closet; a rarity for me.
Travel gifts. I have a baller magnet and shot glass collection that my dad started when I was a kid. I love finding cool things wherever I go. Today the little girl I am going to see is going to get a kick ass pilot hat!
Friends! When you arrive you get to hang out with friends and family who you love and don’t get to see as often as you’d like. (Or you have the opportunity to make new friends if you’re traveling by yourself to a place you’ve never been before.)
Catching up on music. If I’m driving I get tons of time with my satellite radio; if I’m flying I get to listen to what I have stored on my iPhone. Either way I get hours of uninterrupted time exploring new bands and, when driving, singing my heart out.
Catching up on reading. Though I rarely read before bed at home, when I’m out of town I read before going to sleep every night. I’m currently reading The DUFF by Kody Keplinger so I can finish it up before the movie comes out this spring.
Eating out at every meal. I don’t like having to “figure out dinner” every night. When you’re out of town you get to eat out at every meal and make last minute decisions. My favorite!!
Breaking out of the exercise routine. So, exercise doesn’t come easy for me so I love looking for new ways to stay on routine while on the road. This week I'll get to explore West Philadelphia while going on my morning walks. Photos will be posted.
Not having to clean up anything. You just have to cram everything back into your suitcase at the end of the trip.
So, yeah, traveling basically turns me into a teenager. No wonder I like it.
