Glen Campbell is an entertainer who has spent 50 years in the Hollywood limelight. He's an actor, musician and TV host. Some of his noteworthy performances are acting alongside John Wayne in the original movie True Grit, hosting a variety show on CBS, singing the song "Rhinestone Cowboy" and replacing Brian Wilson in The Beach Boys for a couple of years in the 60's.
In 2011 Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Despite the diagnosis he remained in the spotlight and performed a farewell tour. With his disease, the demands of touring will be too much for him to manage when his new album is released in July.
It's worth taking a moment to celebrate his long career in anticipation of his new album this July.
Here's Glen Campbell singing "True Grit."
